Round-the-clock work in Marganets: The city is being connected to an alternative water supply

This was reported by Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration.

Seven teams of welders from Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Kamianske, and Zaporizhzhia are working at the site. Two dozen pieces of equipment are being used. Preparatory construction work has been completed, and installation of a section of the new pipeline has begun.

Repair crews are building a backup branch of the water main, which will allow water to be supplied from a neighboring region. This is a temporary solution that will restore centralized water service as quickly as possible. Water is expected to reach communities within the next 24 hours.

At the same time, repairs are underway on the pumping equipment of the main water pipeline, which is managed by the Regional Water Resources Office. It was precisely because of a failure in this equipment that residents were left without water.

Water deliveries have been organized for residents of Marganets and neighboring communities; over 180 metric tons of drinking water have already been distributed, but this is not enough. The Regional State Administration is working to increase the volume of supplies.

Law enforcement agencies have been tasked with stepping up patrols near distribution points to prevent crowds from gathering due to the risk of Russian attacks.

As a reminder, Zelenskyy described the situation in Marhanets as “shameful.” Due to the extremely slow response at the regional level and the failure to address the water main break, the person in charge will be dismissed. The President emphasized that he expects a faster response from regional and local authorities to the people’s needs.
