In Lviv, during a check of military registration documents, a man attacked a TCC servicemember with a knife. A police officer who was part of the response team opened fire on the attacker. The servicemember died in the ambulance.

In Kyiv, an audiovisual art installation titled “The Future Remembers,” dedicated to Ukraine’s Independence Day, has been launched at the “Motherland” monument. The five-minute projection will be shown every evening from August 21 to September 1, from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

In the Mykolaiv region, police and the Territorial Coordination Center detained a driver from the Kherson Rapid Response Unit of the Red Cross while he was evacuating civilians. As a result, evacuation trips from Kherson have been temporarily suspended.

The ashes of Yevhen Konovalets, a colonel in the Army of the Ukrainian People’s Republic, commander of the Sich Riflemen, and first chairman of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists, were brought to the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in Kyiv. Currently, the coffin containing Konovalets’ remains is in the cathedral.
