In Lviv, a man fatally wounded a TCC soldier during a document check

In Lviv, during a check of military registration documents, a man attacked a TCC servicemember with a knife. A police officer who was part of the response team opened fire on the attacker. The servicemember died in the ambulance.
This was reported by the Lviv Regional Police.
The incident occurred on the night of August 21 on Stepan Bandera Street. According to preliminary information, a 25-year-old Lviv resident attacked a 55-year-old serviceman from the Lychakiv-Zaliznychny District Military Registration and Enlistment Office and Special Forces during public awareness activities and the verification of military registration documents.
The man stabbed the serviceman. Despite attempts by medical personnel to resuscitate him, the wounded man died in the ambulance.
Police officer used his service weapon
The law enforcement officer, who was part of the public alert team, used his service weapon in accordance with Article 46 of the Law of Ukraine “On the National Police.” The police officer fired two shots at the attacker to stop the threat to the soldier’s life and health.
As a result of the shooting, the man sustained a leg injury. He was hospitalized.
Investigators and operatives from the Lviv District Police Department No. 1, patrol officers, and other relevant agencies are working at the scene. Law enforcement officials are determining all the circumstances of the attack.
As a reminder, on the evening of August 20 in Lviv, at the intersection of Vyhovskyi and Kulchytska Streets, a traffic accident occurred, resulting in injuries to a 36-year-old man and his eight-year-old daughter.
