President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree enacting the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine to impose personal and economic sanctions against individuals, companies, and vessels involved in the illegal export of Ukrainian grain.

This is stated in a decree published on the website of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

The new sanctions package includes 13 vessels flying the flags of Russia, Panama, Belize, and St. Kitts and Nevis.

In addition, 11 Russian citizens—including the captains of these vessels—and 28 legal entities that own the vessels or are involved in logistics schemes have been subject to restrictions.

Ukraine will provide all necessary information to its international partners to coordinate the sanctions.

The illegal export of Ukrainian grain from the temporarily occupied territories must have consequences for everyone involved: from companies and owners to captains and vessels. We expect our international partners to prevent it from entering their markets

We would also like to remind you that a Swedish court ruled that the seizure of the cargo ship CAFFA in the Baltic Sea was lawful and authorized its transfer to Ukraine. Ukrainian law enforcement agencies are seeking the transfer of the vessel as part of an investigation into alleged war crimes related to the removal of property from the occupied territories.
