Andriy Biletskyy’s interview with American MAGA-blogger Laura Loomer is a breakthrough

Although, perhaps I’m overestimating Ukrainian diplomacy, and they didn’t actually do any work here. For how else can one explain the wild success of Russian myths specifically in this circle in the U.S., and the fierce hatred toward Ukraine that the Russians have managed to foster there?

And yet, it’s actually utter nonsense. For any American on the right, Ukraine should be a country of freedom. We’ve probably gotten used to it and don’t even notice, but it’s a fact.

Until recently, by a strange twist of fate, Russia held that role as a model. Which, of course, is by no means a conservative country, given its high divorce rate, widespread abortion, rampant drug addiction, AIDS, and alcoholism, as well as its low birth rate. A country where persecution of all Christian churches—except for the one state-sanctioned church—flourishes, and where, aside from the anonymous Telegram app, there isn’t even a hint of free speech.

I am certain that if we set aside the distorted Russian perspective and showed the Ukrainian reality, any representative of the MAGA movement would be shocked by just how much they’ve been lied to.

It would turn out that here, resistance to the Russian Federation was built by people who actually share views close to their own. Those whom Americans would classify as “conservatives”—once the pioneers of our armed resistance to Russian aggression and its standard-bearers to this day.

They were the first, without any orders, to go fight the Russians and set an example for everyone else, instilling in their country the will to win.

The 3rd Army Corps, the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine “Azov,” the “Reid” Regiment, the special forces units “Bratstvo” and “Katechon,” the 3rd Special Operations Battalion “Svoboda,” and others. It’s no wonder the Russians have been using the Right Sector to scare themselves for so many years.

It’s good that today the war is no longer exclusively the domain of the right-wing; defending the Fatherland is no longer the responsibility of isolated political groups. We are at a stage where the war with Russia is recognized as a matter for everyone, regardless of political views. This, in fact, is the victory of the Ukrainian right.

But at the same time, it’s also good that we now have the opportunity to use this hard-won moral capital—the authority of the Ukrainian right-wing conservative movement—a second time to gain yet another argument for bringing the U.S. back into the ranks of our close allies.
