Canada Will Provide Ukraine with Missiles for the Patriot System and Ammunition for the F-16, Says Zelenskyy

The president announced this on his official Telegram channel.

According to him, the government’s defense package exceeds $1 billion. It includes missiles for Patriot systems, ammunition for F-16 fighter jets, and joint production of drones.

Separately, Zelenskyy highlighted the training of Ukrainian military pilots in Canada. Currently, 21 Ukrainians are training there. The President emphasized that this, along with training programs in other countries, will strengthen Ukraine’s combat aviation capabilities.

Ukraine and Canada also signed the first document under the “Drone Deal” agreement. According to Zelenskyy, the cooperation is intended to expand funding opportunities for Ukrainian defense and give Canada access to technologies tested in modern warfare.

In addition, the parties reached agreements on energy ahead of winter and for the long term. Canada also contributed $40 million to a veterans’ fund that will support Ukrainian veterans’ programs.

As a reminder, on August 10, Canada imposed sanctions against the Streit Group as part of its restrictions on Russia. The company manufactures armored vehicles and military equipment. Ottawa stated that the decision was made following reports that the Russian National Guard was using Streit Group armored vehicles in the war against Ukraine.
