"We must fire on the Russian occupiers": Zelenskyy responds to the exchange of fire between the SBU and the Main Intelligence Directorate

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that it is necessary to determine all the circumstances surrounding the shootout in Kyiv involving representatives of the SBU and the Main Intelligence Directorate.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy made this statement in an address.
The president said he had discussed the incident with Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko. According to him, law enforcement officials must verify the testimony and statements of all those involved in the incident and reconstruct the sequence of events.
There must be accountability, including personnel decisions by the heads of the special services regarding those involved in the incident, and there must be internal investigations within both services

According to the president, any circumstances in which Ukrainian security forces use weapons against one another require a proper legal assessment.
Here in Ukraine, it is permissible to fire only at Russian occupiers in order to defend Ukraine. No other exchange of fire will ever be viewed by our state as something that anyone is permitted to do.

As a reminder, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy “called out” the security forces, demanding that they provide all information to the public. The head of the Presidential Office, Kyrylo Budanov, expects a “thorough and impartial investigation.”
