Sybiga Responded to Iran's Threats: Tehran Is a Direct Accomplice in Russia's Aggression Against Ukraine

The foreign minister wrote about this on the social media platform X.

He noted that Iran has no grounds to portray itself as a victim, much less to justify its threats with “absurd references to the UN Charter.”

According to the minister, with its statements, Tehran is also attempting to divert attention from Russian terror against civilian shipping in the Black Sea, which poses a threat to global food security.

He added that Russian attacks on freedom of navigation will be the focus of an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council. Ukraine expects a decisive response from the international community.

Meanwhile, according to Defence Express, Iran may be preparing to attack Ukraine. Tehran possesses a number of ballistic missiles that are potentially capable of reaching all Ukrainian cities. However, according to the publication, Ukraine does not have a sufficient number of air defense systems capable of intercepting such targets.

As a reminder, an Iranian representative previously claimed that Ukraine had attacked an Iranian merchant ship and called it a violation of the UN Charter. Tehran also warned that such actions “will not go unanswered.”
