Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a substantive meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump.

The president announced this on his Telegram channel.

Zelenskyy called the conversation “good” and expressed gratitude for the joint efforts to protect the lives of Ukrainians and achieve peace.

During the meeting, the presidents discussed licenses for the production of interceptors for the Patriot systems and other assistance to Ukraine. They also discussed diplomacy and the need to intensify the diplomatic process.

In addition, Zelenskyy expressed his condolences to President Trump on the death of Lindsey Graham. “He was a true friend of Ukraine,” the Ukrainian head of state noted.

Earlier, “Suspilne” reported on the president’s visit to the U.S.

In particular, the leaders were set to discuss defense cooperation, the possible production of missiles for Patriot systems in Ukraine, as well as the Graham-Blumenthal sanctions bill.

Later, Zelenskyy will meet in the Senate with the co-authors of the bill on sanctions against Russia.

As a reminder, today, July 28, Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Washington for a visit with scheduled meetings with Donald Trump, his team, and partners who could strengthen Ukraine’s defense.
