Former U.S. Vice President Mike Pence stated during the "35 Years of Faith and Freedom" forum in Kyiv that supporting Ukraine in its war against Russia is a "vital national interest of the United States."
This was reported by a "Shelter" correspondent.
He said that Ukraine is on the right side of history and deserves the support of “every free nation on Earth.”
Pence recalled working with Donald Trump during his first term as president.
During our years together in the White House, President Trump traveled to Warsaw and posed what he called the fundamental question of our time—and it remains so today: Does the West have the will to survive?

Pence emphasized that he would continue to insist that Washington provide aid to Ukraine.
“I will continue to insist that America stand with Ukraine—not just because it is the right thing to do, but because supporting Ukraine aligns with our highest ideals and the interests of the free world. I say to my fellow Americans without reservation: it is in the vital national interest of the United States to continue providing the Ukrainian people with the support you need to fight and win this war,” he emphasized.
The Republican assured that he believes in Ukraine’s victory and the advent of a just and lasting peace.
“Seeing the courage and self-sacrifice of your people—everything you have endured over the past four and a half years for the sake of freedom—I stand before you with confidence—not because I underestimate the dangers and threats that still rain down from the sky over Kyiv today, but because I know the lesson from 35 years ago: empires built on lies do not last long. Governments founded on fear cannot prevail,” Pence added.
Mike Pence is a member of the Republican Party who served as Vice President of the United States during Donald Trump’s first administration. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, he has supported providing aid to Kyiv. Last year, Pence criticized Trump for his hesitant support of Ukraine.
