In Nizhnekamsk, Tatarstan, according to preliminary reports, one of the local oil refineries was attacked. There are two large companies operating in the city: TAIF-NK and TANECO.

There are two large oil refineries in the city—TAIF-NK and TANECO. Both facilities produce automotive gasoline, Euro-5 standard diesel fuel, jet fuel, and other refined petroleum products.
TAIF-NK has a processing capacity of approximately 8 million metric tons of crude oil and gas condensate per year. The facility also has production lines for gasoline and diesel fuel, as well as a complex for the deep processing of heavy residues.
TANECO is one of Russia’s largest modern oil refining complexes and is distinguished by its high refining depth.
It is not yet known exactly what was targeted. Russian officials remain silent, while more and more videos from eyewitnesses are appearing online.
As a reminder, on the night of September 10, 2026, the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck the Saratov Oil Refinery in Russia. Fires were reported on the refinery’s grounds following the strike. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted that the extent of the damage inflicted on the facility is currently being assessed.
