Up to 460,000 hryvnias per month: The Ministry of Internal Affairs is launching a pilot program of incentive payments for defenders

This was announced by Interior Minister Ivan Vyhivskyi.

Thanks to the implementation of this pilot project, the total amount of monthly incentive payments for frontline soldiers could reach up to 460,000 hryvnias.

Payments will be calculated based on the complexity of the tasks, the level of risk to life, and the direct results of combat operations.

The amounts of additional monthly payments are distributed based on the specifics of the missions and areas of service:

• up to 100,000 hryvnias (proportional to time served) – for direct participation in combat operations;
• 170,000 hryvnias (proportional to time served) – for carrying out combat missions directly on the front lines;
• 70,000 hryvnias (proportional to time served) – for service in other sectors of the front within a company strongpoint (CSP);
• 50,000 hryvnias (proportional to time served) – for performing duties at command posts;
• 15,000 to 30,000 hryvnias—additional compensation for military instructors;
• up to 10,000 hryvnias—payments for military service for other categories of service members.

Separately, special one-time and daily bonuses are provided for effective actions on the battlefield:

• 40,000 hryvnias per day – for the successful capture of enemy positions;
• 20,000 hryvnias per day – for regaining previously lost controlled areas and positions;
• 100,000 hryvnias—a reward for each occupying soldier taken prisoner;
• 15,000 hryvnias—for eliminating an enemy in a firefight or hand-to-hand combat.

All of the above incentive payments will be awarded starting June 1, 2026.

As a reminder, in early July, the Ukrainian Defense Forces introduced a new mechanism for calculating additional monetary rewards for military personnel. The changes specify who is eligible for the bonuses, the amounts provided, and how eligibility will be verified.
