Kushner Revealed What Is Preventing the Signing of a Peace Agreement

 U.S. President’s Special Envoy Jared Kushner made this statement during the annual Yalta European Strategy (YES 2026) meeting.

U.S. Special Envoy Jared Kushner stated that a significant portion of the agreements on ending the war have already been finalized.

According to him, the issue of territory remains the main obstacle to concluding a peace agreement.

Kushner noted that the U.S. is satisfied with the latest rounds of negotiations in Kyiv and Moscow and is working to organize a new trilateral meeting.

He explained that Russia has defined the territorial line it would like to reach. According to Kushner, if Ukraine agreed to retreat to that line, the rest of the agreements would already have been worked out and agreed upon. However, Kyiv does not agree to this option.

The special envoy emphasized that the parties still do not share a common vision of the final outcome. He also linked the complexity of the territorial issue to the dynamics of the fighting.

Kushner added that the U.S. is trying to find a solution that would end the war and create conditions under which such a conflict would not recur.

He hopes that over the next few weeks, the parties will be able to determine the next steps.
