Nighttime drone attack on the Rostov Region: OZON and DNS warehouses and a shipyard were hit

This information was reported by the Telegram channels Exilenova+, ASTRA, and the OZON press service, as well as by Yuri Slyusar, governor of the Rostov Region of the Russian Federation.

Damage to Logistics and Industrial Infrastructure

As a result of the attack, facilities belonging to several large companies and enterprises in the region were hit:

• OZON logistics centers: According to the company’s press service, one of the logistics facilities in the Rostov Region was struck, causing a fire that was quickly extinguished. Employees at the second complex were evacuated due to the threat of UAVs. Operations at both facilities have been temporarily suspended, and the receipt of goods has been halted. According to the company, no staff members were injured.
• DNS Warehouses: According to monitoring Telegram channels, strikes triggered a large-scale fire at the warehouses of a chain selling digital and household appliances.
• Shipbuilding plant: According to OSINT researchers, the Aksai District reported damage to the grounds of a shipbuilding plant, where a ship caught fire as a result of the attack.

Casualties and Damage to Residential Areas

Russian officials reported that air defense forces were engaged and that debris had fallen in several districts. According to the governor of the Rostov Region, two apartment buildings in Rostov-on-Don were damaged by falling debris, and their residents had to be evacuated.

According to local authorities, seven people sought medical attention as a result of the nighttime events:

• In Rostov-on-Don, four people were hospitalized, including two children (one of whom is in serious condition).
• In the Aksay District, three people sustained injuries.

In addition to the events in the Rostov region, satellite data from NASA’s FIRMS service detected a fire at a military airfield in the village of Gvardeyskoye in the temporarily occupied Crimea, which also occurred last night.

As a reminder, on the night of August 27, Ukrainian drones attacked logistics facilities belonging to the Russian e-commerce platform Ozon in Ufa and Orenburg.

Ozon’s stock plummeted by nearly 30% following the Ukrainian strikes. In just a few minutes, the company lost about 185 billion rubles in market capitalization, which is equivalent to approximately $2.2 billion. Following this plunge, the Moscow Exchange urgently suspended trading in Ozon shares.
