Germany to provide Ukraine with PAC-2 missiles for Patriot systems before winter

Pistorius noted that the decision to transfer the PAC-2 missiles was made in parallel with the NATO summit. According to him, the missiles are expected to arrive in Ukraine before the start of the winter season, when Russia is expected to intensify its attacks on energy infrastructure once again.

The minister called on other “Ramstein” participants to check their own stockpiles and consider making similar deliveries to Ukraine.

Germany will increase deliveries of AIM-9 and IRIS-T missiles

Pistorius also announced that Germany will step up the supply of AIM-9 air-to-air missiles to Ukraine from Bundeswehr stockpiles. According to him, this will allow for the transfer of a larger quantity of such munitions to Ukraine.

In addition, Germany will continue to supply IRIS-T air defense systems, including mass-produced guided missiles.

According to the minister, Ukraine plans to order several thousand more IRIS-T guided missiles. Their purchase will be financed through a European Union loan to Ukraine.

As a reminder, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that EU member states had agreed to provide Ukraine with a new tranche of €3.2 billion for the purchase of missiles for the Patriot system.
