Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Putin’s inner circle understands that Putin alone is to blame for the losses the Russians are suffering.
The president announced this in an evening address.
He noted that Mykhailo Drapatyi has already assumed his duties.
The head of state, together with Drapatyi and Yevhen Khmara, decided that Ihor Skybiuk will become the new Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to him, all the appointed commanders are combat-ready and experienced, and are well-known and supported by the military.
The modernization of the Ukrainian Defense Forces has been identified as the army’s top priority. The main goal is to ensure coordinated operations so that the Russians are left with no room to maneuver.
Russia must feel increasing pressure and escalating sanctions: this includes our long-range sanctions, our mid-range strikes, and our strong positions on the front lines. All of this will be ensured

Zelenskyy separately thanked Ukrainians – both military personnel and civilians – for their trust in the new military leadership. He expressed hope that this trust would boost the defenders’ morale.
As a reminder, former high-ranking officials from Germany and Russia met secretly in Azerbaijan to discuss ending the war in Ukraine.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry commented on the secret meeting between Russians and Germans in Azerbaijan.
