During the Russian occupiers’ deadliest terrorist attack in Olenivka against the defenders of Mariupol, more than 50 Ukrainian soldiers were killed, 130 were wounded, and many of those who survived the explosion remain in enemy captivity.
This was stated by Lieutenant General Oleg Ivashchenko, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, according to the press service of the Main Intelligence Directorate.
In the Ukrainian calendar, July 28 is designated as the Day of Remembrance for the Defenders of Ukraine-men and women, members of volunteer units, and civilians-who were executed, tortured, or died in captivity. This date holds special significance. For four years in a row now, “Olenivka” has been associated with the tragedy of the summer of 2022

He assured that the state continues to fight for the release of all captives from Russian torture chambers, and the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War is working tirelessly to bring back the living and repatriate the bodies of the fallen.
