More than 77% of the Ryazan Oil Refinery's capacity has been put out of commission: The Defense Forces struck the refinery, an airfield, and air defense systems in Russia

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to military command, a fire broke out at the Ryazan Oil Refinery, which supplies fuel to Russian occupation forces, after it was hit. A fire was also reported near the “Rostov-on-Don” military airfield in the Rostov region.

In addition, in the Rostov region, Ukrainian troops struck the “Podlyot” radar station and two “Pantsir-S1” anti-aircraft gun-and-missile systems. The extent of the damage is currently being assessed.

Details of the Strike on the Ryazan Oil Refinery

According to Fire Point, Ukrainian FP-1 drones were used in the strike on the oil refinery in Ryazan. They successfully breached the facility’s defense system and inflicted critical damage to the processing equipment:

• The ELOU-AVT-6 distillation column: the main facility for the primary processing of crude oil, with a capacity of 8.5 million metric tons per year, was hit directly;
• AVT-3 unit: the strike resulted in the loss of an additional 3.1 million metric tons of annual capacity.

According to analysts’ estimates, the attack put more than 77% of the Ryazan Refinery’s total primary processing capacity out of commission.

As a reminder, on the night of September 6, Rostov and Bataysk in Russia’s Rostov Oblast came under attack by drones.
