The Gunsmiths' Council confirmed a strike on a location in the Kyiv region where an arms exhibition was being held

This was reported by Ihor Fedirko, chairman of the Ukrainian Gunmakers Council.

According to him, one of the defense industry’s partners was targeted. Among those attending the event were also an employee of the Gunmakers Council and representatives of partner companies. The organization is currently in contact with those affected and is providing the necessary assistance.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that at least six people were killed and dozens more were injured as a result of the Russian missile strike on the Kyiv region. A rescue operation is underway at the scene, and investigators are working to determine the full circumstances of the tragedy.

Fedirko urged people not to share photos, videos, geolocation data, lists of participants, or any unconfirmed information about the circumstances of the attack while law enforcement and emergency services are still working on the case.

Once all the circumstances have been established, the Ukrainian Council of Arms Manufacturers plans to work with the Security Service of Ukraine and other relevant authorities to develop additional mechanisms to protect representatives of the defense-industrial complex.

This includes, in particular, strengthening security requirements during professional events, weapons tests, and demonstrations: dispersing participants, ensuring access to shelters, establishing clear protocols for action during air raid alerts, and strictly limiting the dissemination of information.

The Arms Manufacturers’ Council emphasized that Russia is deliberately targeting the Ukrainian defense-industrial complex, but this will not halt the work of arms manufacturers.

As a reminder, on Friday, July 24, Russian troops reportedly carried out a targeted strike on a military training ground where an arms exhibition was taking place. The strike resulted in fatalities and significant damage. At the same time, participants in the arms exhibition have confirmed the Russian strike on the training ground. According to them, there are currently not enough emergency medical teams at the site of the attack.
