On the night of August 15–16, Russian forces launched a combined strike on Kryvyi Rih using ballistic missiles and drones. One person was killed and six others were injured as a result of the attack.

This was reported by Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, on Telegram.

Attack on Kryvyi Rih

Ganza reported that Russian troops struck industrial facilities in Kryvyi Rih. A fire broke out at one of the sites following the strike, and rescue workers were on the scene.

Initial reports indicated one casualty. Later, at 4:25 a.m., Hanzha clarified that one person had been killed and six others wounded as a result of the attack.

According to the official, medical personnel provided the necessary assistance to the victims.

Massive Russian Strike

The attack on Kryvyi Rih was part of a massive strike by Russian forces against Ukraine on the night of August 15–16. Other cities, including Kyiv, Kamianske, and Kremenchuk, were also shelled.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported high-speed targets heading toward the mentioned settlements. However, at the time of publication, there was still no information about the consequences of the attack.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko was the only official to report that, following the attack, debris fell in the capital's Obolonskyi district, causing fires in non-residential buildings at two locations. Several vehicles also caught fire near one of the sites. A fire was reported in an area of non-residential buildings in the Holosiivskyi district. Emergency services are working at the affected sites.

Earlier, Oleksandr Vilkul, head of the Kryvyi Rih Defense Council, reported that the city had come under a combined attack involving ballistic missiles and attack drones.

As a reminder, on the night of August 15–16, fires broke out at two large logistics facilities in the Moscow Region—the Wildberries warehouse in Koledino and the “Pivnichne Domodedovo” multimodal complex. According to preliminary data, the fires may have been caused by a drone attack.
