One of the largest petrochemical complexes in Russia's Bashkortostan has been attacked: the General Staff has confirmed the strike

Update, 12:10 p.m.:

The General Staff confirmed that the “Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat” oil refinery in Bashkortostan had been struck.

Earlier reports indicated that one of Russia’s largest oil refineries—the “Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat” facility, located 1,400 km from the Ukrainian border—had come under drone attack.

After the drone strike, local residents noticed black smoke rising from the plant’s grounds.

Radii Khabirov, acting head of Bashkortostan, confirmed the attack and reported that debris had fallen.

The extent of the damage is
currently being assessed.

It is known that the “Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat” refinery has a design capacity of approximately 10 million metric tons of feedstock per year; actual volumes in recent years have been around 6.5–7 million metric tons.

In addition, OSINT sources report that a large Wildberries warehouse and distribution complex in the Chishminsky District of Bashkortostan is on fire.

The facility is used for the storage, sorting, and subsequent distribution of Wildberries’ dual-use goods. A fire broke out on the hub’s premises following the strike.

The facility’s total area is approximately 186,800 square meters. It is divided into two buildings—123,300 square meters and 63,500 square meters. The Wildberries complex is not yet fully completed; construction is proceeding in phases, but part of the facility is already being used for the company’s logistics operations.

As a reminder, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that in July, the Ukrainian Armed Forces carried out a series of successful long-range strikes on Russian military facilities. He added that there is now not a single Russian oil refinery that Ukrainian weapons cannot reach.

As a result of the attacks, Russia’s largest marketplace, Wildberries, has already lost a third of its warehouse capacity. Goods worth 480 billion rubles were destroyed in at least 12 completely destroyed mega-hubs. This amount is comparable to the annual budget of Russian regions such as the Krasnoyarsk Krai (527 billion) or the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug (476 billion).
