Strikes on energy infrastructure, food warehouses, and residential buildings: the consequences of Russia’s attacks on southern Ukraine

Over the past 24 hours, Russian occupation forces have attacked four regions of Ukraine, using aerial bombs, strike drones, missiles, and artillery. The enemy’s main targets were energy and port infrastructure, food warehouses, and residential neighborhoods.
According to regional military administrations, the National Police, and the State Emergency Service, four people were killed and another 25 were injured to varying degrees as a result of enemy attacks.
Kherson and Zaporizhzhia Regions: Civilian Casualties and Hundreds of Strikes
Kherson Region
The region came under intense air, drone, and artillery fire. The occupiers damaged six high-rise buildings, 14 private homes, administrative buildings, municipal vehicles, trolleybuses, and route taxis. As a result of the enemy’s aggression, 3 people were killed and another 17 were wounded (including two employees of a municipal utility). Most of the civilians’ injuries were caused by targeted explosions from FPV drones.
Zaporizhzhia Region
The enemy launched approximately 1,000 strikes on populated areas in the region, using aerial bombs, artillery, multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), and over 670 UAVs. Damage to homes, vehicles, and infrastructure was reported. As a result of the attacks, one person was killed and five others were wounded, including elderly women and a young girl.
Odesa and Mykolaiv Regions: Attacks on Energy Infrastructure, Ports, and Warehouses
Odesa Region
On the night of August 30, Russian forces attacked warehouses where food supplies for the civilian population were stored. A massive fire broke out at the site of the strike, covering an area of 3,000 square meters, and was extinguished by units of the State Emergency Service. Three people were injured as a result of the strike.
Mykolaiv Region
The enemy launched strikes using "Shahed" drones, FPV drones, and cruise missiles. The occupiers targeted an energy infrastructure facility (causing a temporary power outage in the regional center and two districts), port infrastructure, and a food processing plant. A large-scale fire broke out at a food warehouse, which firefighters brought under control intermittently due to the threat of repeat strikes. There were no casualties, and power has already been fully restored.
As a reminder, at least three people were injured in Kyiv as a result of a Russian attack on the night of August 30.
