Ukraine is actively developing and testing laser systems to counter enemy drones.
This was announced during a briefing by Brigadier General Andriy Lebedenko, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to “Interfax-Ukraine.”
Lebedenko is convinced that in just 2-3 months, laser air defense systems will be able to shoot down drones more effectively than machine guns.
Projects related to the weapons of the future are underway. They already exist today. There are manufacturers and teams – both within the Armed Forces of Ukraine and outside them, such as private companies – that are producing laser weapons. These weapons are already capable of shooting down FPV drones and are currently being developed to counter “suicide drones.”

As a reminder, Dutch Defense Minister Dylan Yeşilgöz-Zegerius emphasized the need to scale up the production of ammunition for air defense systems to help Ukraine defend itself more effectively against Russian ballistic missiles.
