On the night of July 25, bases occupied by the invaders in Kyrylivka on the coast of the Azov Sea were attacked; among the Russian security forces killed was an employee of “Roskomnadzor.”

This is according to Russian media reports.

The deceased was 54-year-old Mikhail Ivanov, who served in the Russian Armed Forces for over 20 years and, since May 2023, had headed the Zaporizhzhia Regional Office of the Main Radio Frequency Center (MRFC).

The MRC is a subsidiary of Roskomnadzor and monitors communications and the radio frequency spectrum, as well as enforces compliance with Russian censorship laws.

The Russian occupiers used the “Aleon” and “Beluga” bases in occupied Kyrylivka for military purposes—Russian officers were stationed at the “Aleon” base, while security forces and senior military leadership of the occupying forces were stationed at “Beluga.”

As a reminder, on the night of July 27, the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out a series of strikes against Russian military facilities and targets in the occupied territories. Among the targets struck was a road bridge across the Henichesk Strait in the Kherson region, which the occupiers used to support military logistics in the temporarily occupied south of Ukraine.
