Zelenskyy dismissed Syrsky, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed Oleksandr Syrskyi from his post as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This was reported on his Telegram channel.
The fact is that Oleksandr Syrskyi ensured Ukraine’s success in the defense of Kyiv, in the Kharkiv offensive, and in the Kursk operation. We have come a long way; the defense of Ukraine continues, and every soldier deserves to be treated with respect. I am grateful to Oleksandr Syrskyi and to each of our soldiers for Ukraine’s strong positions on the front lines.

It should be noted that Syrskyi’s dismissal was one of the main demands of the protesters who have been taking to the streets in Kyiv and other cities since July 16. Another demand—the reinstatement of Mykhailo Fedorov as defense minister—remains unfulfilled.
As a reminder, rallies in support of Mykhailo Fedorov—who was removed from his post as defense minister in Serhiy Koretskyi’s new government—will continue in Kyiv. Fedorov’s position in the government has been temporarily filled by Yevhen Khmara, the former acting head of the Security Service. One of the demands was also the dismissal of Syrsky.
Later, many prominent military figures, including Bohdan Krotevych and Serhiy Filimonov, spoke out in favor of Syrsky’s dismissal.
