Zelenskyy held a special meeting: for the first time, weapons manufacturers were brought together directly with corps commanders

He announced this on Telegram.

According to the head of state, this was the first time there had been direct communication between Ukrainian weapons and equipment manufacturers, the commanders of the corps that use these products on the front lines, and representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Finance, and the special services.

The meeting was attended by the commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Airborne Assault Troops, the commanders of the 10th, 11th, and 19th Army Corps, as well as the “Charter” and “Azov” brigades.

The main topics included troop support, supply delays, procurement, additional funding, and contracts. In particular, the discussion focused on the need for drones of all types, ground-based robotic systems, long-range artillery munitions, and other equipment.

The participants also discussed instances of defects in military equipment discovered directly during its use on the battlefield. The President emphasized that manufacturers must respond promptly to such reports and rectify the deficiencies.

Following the meeting, it was decided to establish a regular communication channel between corps commanders, weapons manufacturers, and government agencies, coordinated by the Ministry of Defense and the National Security and Defense Council.

In addition, Zelenskyy announced further meetings with other corps commanders to consider their proposals for adjusting the defense strategy. He paid particular attention to issues of air defense and the tasks facing Ukrainian diplomacy.

According to the president, Ukraine must strengthen its positions as much as possible by August and be prepared for various scenarios this fall.

As a reminder, the head of state held talks with Deputy Chief of the General Staff Volodymyr Horbatyuk, Commander of the Joint Forces Mykhailo Drapatiy, Commander of the 3rd Mechanized Brigade Andriy Biletskyi, Commander of the 2nd Corps of the National Guard “Charter” Ihor Obolensky, Commander of the Airborne Forces Oleg Apostol, and Commander of the 1st Corps of the National Guard “Azov” Denys Prokopenko.

Behind the scenes, these very officers are currently being cited as the leading potential candidates for the position of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
