“Now I know that my roots are here, in Ukraine”: Laura Lumer learned about her ancestors

During an interview with Marichka Padalko, American conservative journalist and influencer Laura Lumer learned details about her family history and her Ukrainian roots.
Lumer said that previously she had known only that her grandparents were from Kyiv. Ukrainian researchers managed to find archival documents about her great-grandfather, Pinkus Lumer. It turned out that he was born on February 10, 1895, in Vinnytsia, and his family later moved to Kyiv.
The researchers also found records about the Lumer family in the archives and documents of the Jewish community of Vinnytsia. Lumer was presented with copies of the documents they found as a gift.

She also admitted that she was struck by the discovery of her ancestors’ Ukrainian origins.

As a reminder, Laura Lumer was previously known for her far-right views, conspiracy theories, and the dissemination of Russian narratives.
Later, after visiting Bucha and meeting with representatives of the Ukrainian side, she stated that her perception of the war had changed and that the information she had received previously did not correspond to reality.
