In Kyiv, the rate of damage to apartment buildings caused by Russian airstrikes has increased.
Data on the number of damaged residential buildings was provided by the Kyiv City State Administration in response to a request from “Shelter.”
As of July 27, 2026, the total number of apartment buildings in Kyiv damaged since 2022 as a result of Russian airstrikes stands at 4,210. Moreover, 1,513 buildings were damaged in just the first 7 months of 2026.
In 2022, 362 residential buildings were damaged due to attacks by the Russian Federation; in 2023, 272; in 2024, 543; and in 2025, 1,520.
According to data from LUN, an IT company operating in the real estate sector, there are approximately 12,000 multi-unit residential buildings in Kyiv, and the total number of residential properties, including the private sector, exceeds 14,000.
This means that currently, about one-third of multi-unit residential buildings have already been damaged by Russian attacks.
As a reminder, the number of cultural heritage sites damaged as a result of Russian attacks has risen sharply in Kyiv.
