Explosion at district police station in Rivne: one person killed and others injured

An explosion occurred in the administrative building of the district police department in Rivne.
Update 7:20 p.m.
According to the State Bureau of Investigation (DBR), the explosion in Rivne occurred around 3:30 p.m. in the courtyard of Police Station No. 1. At the time, bomb disposal unit personnel were carrying out their official duties.
The State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) has launched a pre-trial investigation into the incident under Article 264 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—negligent storage of firearms or ammunition.
The Rivne Regional Police had previously reported the explosion.
One police officer was killed as a result of the incident, and three other law enforcement officers were injured.
Emergency services are on the scene.
The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
As a reminder, a 17-year-old resident of the village of Loknytsia in Rivne Oblast caused a fatal traffic accident while under the influence of alcohol. A pregnant woman was killed in the accident.
