At the initiative of the Ministry of Energy, the government has adopted a decision to ensure a more efficient distribution of electricity. Lists of critical facilities will now be compiled separately for the winter and summer periods.
This was announced by the Ministry of Energy and First Deputy Prime Minister—Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal.
The changes will take into account seasonal variations in the power grid’s operation and peak electricity demand.
This will allow for more efficient planning of the distribution of available electricity, increase the amount available to residential consumers, and ensure an even distribution across regions.
As a result, the government hopes to stabilize the operation of Ukraine’s integrated power system, taking into account seasonal patterns of electricity consumption.
As a reminder, the Ukrainian Energy Support Fund has received over 2 billion euros from 39 donors representing 26 partner countries and three international organizations. The Fund is currently actively preparing for winter, in particular through updated procurement mechanisms and the creation of a strategic reserve of equipment.
