Olga Stefanishyna, former Deputy Prime Minister and former Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States, commented on reports of the new allegation. She stated that she is taking the legal proceedings in stride and considers the commotion surrounding the matter to be “a storm in a teacup.”

She wrote about this on Facebook.

Any procedural actions are part of the lawful work of the law enforcement system and do not constitute a finding of guilt. I am taking these events in stride and without undue emotion

According to her, she publicly addressed a significant portion of the issues—particularly those regarding real estate—over a year ago. Following the initial reports, she herself provided journalists with all the necessary documents regarding the apartment in question.

I had nothing to hide then, and I have nothing to hide now. I devoted more than ten years to serving my country. My mission has been successfully completed, and I am in Ukraine to answer for my actions here. Distance will serve as neither a defense nor an excuse

Stefanishyna added that the burden of proof lies with the accuser, and that she will calmly defend her position in accordance with the law and has no doubt about the outcome.

As a reminder, on August 5, Olga Stefanishyna received new charges from NABU and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO). The High Anti-Corruption Court is determining her pretrial measure.

On August 3, a decree by Volodymyr Zelenskyy was published dismissing Olga Stefanishyna from her post as ambassador to the U.S. Earlier, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhiy Tykhyi confirmed in an interview with “Shelter” that discussions were underway regarding the replacement of Ukraine’s ambassador to the U.S.
