Iran is not interested in an escalation, but insists on compensation for the damage caused by the attack on the Iranian vessel.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi made this statement following a conversation with Ukraine’s Acting Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga.

According to Araghchi, any attacks on Iranian citizens or interests are unacceptable.

At the same time, the Iranian foreign minister noted that Sybiga assured him that the strike on the Iranian vessel was accidental and that there was no intention to provoke an escalation.

As a reminder, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Iran had effectively become a participant in the war against Ukraine when it began supplying Russia with attack drones, technology, and other weapons. According to him, North Korea is also providing similar military support to Moscow.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga also stated that Iran’s threats are unfounded. He said that the regime in Tehran is a direct accomplice in Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.
