One of the largest oil refineries in Russia was attacked: explosions were heard in Kstovo

Reports are coming in from Russia's Nizhny Novgorod Region of an attack on the Kstovo Oil Refinery. A series of explosions rocked the plant's premises, followed by a massive fire.
This was reported by the Exilenova+ Telegram channel.
Local residents are reporting numerous explosions and strikes in the area around the facility. Thick smoke is visible above the refinery, and there are also reports of a major fire.
The facility in question is the “LUKOIL-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez” oil refinery in the Kstovo District. It is one of the largest facilities of its kind in Russia. Its design capacity is approximately 17 million metric tons of crude oil per year.
The plant produces automotive gasoline, diesel and jet fuel, lubricants, and other petroleum products.
According to available information, the attack on the facility is ongoing. There is currently no information on the nature and extent of the damage; the circumstances and consequences of the incident are being clarified.
As a reminder, on the night of August 22, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck facilities at the Novokuybyshevsk Oil Refinery in the Samara Region of the Russian Federation. A fire broke out on the refinery’s premises following the attack. The extent of the damage to the facility is currently being assessed.
