Russia reported attacks on oil refineries in Novoshakhtinsk and Afipskoye: General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed strikes

On the night of August 24–25, local residents reported attacks on the Novoshakhtinsk Oil Refinery in the Rostov Region and the Afipsk Oil Refinery in the Krasnodar Krai. Explosions were reported at both facilities, and a fire broke out at the Afipsk refinery following the attack.

The Ministry of Defense stated that the Afipsky Oil Refinery is one of the largest oil refineries in the Krasnodar Region. It produces diesel, gasoline components, and is involved in supplying the Russian occupation forces. The refinery has a capacity of 6.25 million metric tons of crude oil per year.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the strike on the Afipsk Oil Refinery and the gas separation unit at the Astrakhan Gas Processing Plant.

It has also been confirmed that two gas separation units at the Astrakhan Gas Processing Plant were struck.
Both facilities are involved in supporting the Russian military machine.

The governor of the Rostov Oblast confirmed that the Novoshakhtinsk Oil Refinery had been struck.

Around 2:10 a.m., reports emerged of an attack on the Novoshakhtinsk Oil Refinery in the Rostov Region. At approximately 3:41 a.m., reports of explosions began to surface in Afipsk, Krasnodar Krai, where another oil refinery is also located.

Later, monitoring channels published a video from Afipsky. According to preliminary reports, the footage shows a fire on the refinery grounds; specifically, there were reports of a tank catching fire.
There is currently no official information on the extent of the damage.
As a reminder, on August 24, the Unmanned Systems Forces announced that they had struck a number of military facilities on the territory of the Russian Federation and in temporarily occupied areas. Among the targets named were, in particular, an oil depot in Yeysk, as well as facilities in the Rostov Region.
