Zelenskyy Arrives in Canada: To Discuss Air Defense and Winter Preparations

Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Canada on September 10 for a three-day visit. The president and first lady will attend events in Calgary, Toronto, and North Bay.

The Ukrainian leader stated that important meetings and agreements are planned that will shape cooperation and cement “the long-standing strategic level of our relations for years to come.”
I will meet with Prime Minister Mark Carney. The main focus will be on supporting Ukraine in defending its airspace and preparing for winter. We will discuss how to strengthen our resilience, support our people, and provide Ukraine with the necessary capabilities for defense.

It is known that Zelenskyy will also participate in a remote session of the Canadian government.
The Canadian Prime Minister’s Office stated that Zelenskyy’s visit will draw attention to Canada’s ongoing leadership in supporting Ukraine and underscore its unwavering commitment to a just and lasting peace.
Olena Zelenska is scheduled to meet with philanthropists who are helping Ukraine. The First Lady will also visit the Canadian counterparts of Ukraine’s Superhero Schools.
As a reminder, on September 8–9, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the First Lady were in Norway. The visit was related to the funeral of King Harald V.
The Moldovan government confirmed that on September 7, the Ukrainian president’s flight from Moldova to Norway was delayed due to Russian drones in the country’s airspace.
