A diplomatic train carrying European leaders may have been the target of a Russian drone, according to Ukrzaliznytsia

It is noted that shortly before the locomotive was struck, a diplomatic train was at the Yagodin station, carrying, among others, security advisors from several EU member states and former European leaders, including former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

Additionally, former CIA Director David Petraeus was on another train that was at Yagodyn Station at the time of the attack.

Ukrzaliznytsia stated that a jet-powered drone attacking the locomotive was detected by a dispatcher from the Central Monitoring Group. The signal to evacuate the train was given approximately 15 minutes before the strike.

Ukrzaliznytsia emphasized that train schedules are constantly being adjusted depending on which tracks are accessible and which are blocked due to Russian strikes.

As a reminder, on Sunday, September 13, in Volyn, a passenger train’s locomotive was damaged by a hostile strike just two kilometers from the border with Poland. According to the company, no passengers or railway workers were killed or injured thanks to the prompt detection of the danger.
