The Zaporizhstal Steel Mill suspended operations following a Russian missile attack: seven workers were killed

The Zaporizhstal steel mill has suspended operations due to significant damage caused by a Russian missile strike.
Metinvest Holding has reported this.
Seven employees were killed and 21 were injured as a result of a nighttime missile attack by Russia. The strike occurred as plant workers were heading to shelters after an alarm was sounded.
Metinvest stated that it stands with the families of the deceased and the injured and pledged to provide assistance during this extremely difficult time.
At Metinvest’s facilities in Zaporizhzhia, power generation units and infrastructure, as well as the main and auxiliary facilities of the coke and blast furnace operations, were damaged.
Currently, operations at the steel mill have been completely halted, while other production sites are operating at reduced capacity. Specialists are assessing the consequences of the enemy attack, evaluating the possibilities and timeline for recovery, and carrying out the necessary emergency repair work.
“Metinvest”
As a reminder, on the night of August 11, Russian troops launched a combined strike on Zaporizhzhia. The occupiers attacked industrial facilities and infrastructure. A garage cooperative and non-residential buildings were damaged. The strike also caused fires and power outages.
Zelenskyy stated that Russia attacked Zaporizhzhia with North Korean ballistic missiles, “Zircon” missiles, and KABs, and is preparing for further escalation.
