Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine is striving for victory in the war against Russia, but that saving lives remains the country’s top priority.
The President of Ukraine made this statement in an interview with American blogger Laura Lumer.
According to the head of state, a quick ceasefire is preferable to a grueling, years-long war.
“If we can stop the war tomorrow and establish a ceasefire, that’s better than fighting for 10–20 years until victory and losing our people.”

Zelenskyy also added that U.S. President Donald Trump has begun to believe in the sincerity of Kyiv’s intentions to end hostilities as quickly as possible. A brief personal meeting at the Vatican marked a turning point in relations between the two leaders.
As a reminder, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Laura Loomer, a blogger close to Donald Trump, who recently arrived in Ukraine. Interestingly, she began collecting questions for Zelenskyy from her followers.
