Russian drones attack civilian car, cyclist and pedestrians in Kherson region, killing and injuring civilians

Update at 7:40 p.m.

At approximately 6:45 p.m., the following people were injured in an enemy drone attack in downtown Kherson:

• a 54-year-old man (blast injury and multiple shrapnel wounds to the head, torso, arms, and legs);
• a 66-year-old woman who was in a car at the time of the strike (concussion, blast injury, and closed head injury, as well as a shrapnel wound to her left leg).

Update 5:25 p.m.

Another resident of Novovorontsovka was injured in the shelling at 11:30 a.m. The 49-year-old woman, who was at home, sustained a concussion, a brain contusion, blast injuries, and a closed head injury.

Update 4:25 p.m.

At 3:50 p.m., the Russians again attacked the Korabelny district of Kherson with a drone. A 40-year-old man who was walking down the street was injured. He was hospitalized in moderate condition with blast trauma and shrapnel wounds to the neck.

Update 3:20 p.m.

Around 2:00 p.m., Russian terrorists attacked an elderly woman with a drone in the Korabelny district of Kherson. The drone was aimed at a 73-year-old Kherson resident who was walking down the street. She sustained blast trauma and shrapnel wounds to her leg. 

At 1:40 p.m., the occupiers struck a market in the Korabelny district of Kherson with a drone:

• A 40-year-old man sustained a blast injury and shrapnel wounds to his chest;
• a 60-year-old man sustained a blast injury.

Around 1:20 p.m. in Novovorontsovka, a drone attacked a cyclist. A 72-year-old man was hospitalized with multiple shrapnel wounds to his torso and limbs, traumatic amputation of his fingers, fractures to his arm and leg, blast injuries, and a closed head injury.

At 12:50 p.m., the Russians attacked a residential building in Lyubymivka, Novovorontsovka community, with a drone. A 73-year-old man sustained a shrapnel wound to the head, a concussion, blast injuries, and a closed head injury.

At approximately 5:30 a.m., the occupiers attacked a man with a drone in the Korabelny district of Kherson. The 69-year-old Kherson resident was diagnosed with shrapnel wounds to the chest, abdomen, and leg, as well as a concussion, blast injury, and closed head injury.

Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional State Administration, had previously reported the attack on the region.

A 70-year-old man was killed in the Russian attack.

As a reminder, today, September 8, Russian troops carried out two precision strikes with “Shahed” drones on a Kyiv–Sumy train as it approached Sumy. Later, a commuter train was attacked again in the Sumy region; there are casualties.
