Defense forces struck the Kirish Oil Refinery, 800 km away, and airfields in Yeysk and Millerovo

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Special Operations Forces (SOF), and the Unmanned Systems Forces (USF).

Strike on the Kirish Oil Refinery, 800 km from the border

In the city of Kirishi, Leningrad Oblast, Deep Strike units of the SSO, in coordination with the UAS, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), and the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR), struck the “Kirishsky” oil refinery (JSC “Kirishnefteorgsintez”). A fire broke out on the plant’s premises.

“Kirishsky” Oil Refinery: Characteristics and Significance

The “Kirishsky” Oil Refinery is the second-largest in the Russian Federation and the largest in the country’s northwest. Its capacity is approximately 20 million metric tons of crude oil per year.

The facility produces automotive gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel, supplying St. Petersburg, the Leningrad, Novgorod, and Pskov regions, as well as the Russian Federation’s military.

Strikes on airfields and UAV bases in Yeysk and Millerovo

In addition to fuel infrastructure, operators of the 1st Separate SBS Center, together with other components of the Defense Forces, struck Russian military airfields located approximately 170 km from the front line:

• "Yeisk" Airfield (Krasnodar Krai): The military airfield’s infrastructure was struck, resulting in a fire at the site.
• "Millerovo" Airfield (Rostov Oblast): Storage, preparation, and launch sites for the occupiers’ strike drones were struck. A fire was reported on the premises.

The extent of damage to the facilities and the enemy’s final losses are currently being assessed.

As a reminder, on the night of August 30, authorities in the Leningrad Oblast of the Russian Federation reported a massive drone attack. Russian officials reported 42 drones, while monitoring channels reported a strike on an oil refinery in Kirishi.
