Eight people were killed and five others were injured in Kyiv as a result of a nighttime attack

This was reported by the Kyiv City State Administration.

Update, 08:10:

The State Emergency Service reported that as a result of Russian shelling in the capital, 8 people were killed and another 5 were injured, including 3 children.

Civilian infrastructure and residential buildings in the capital were hit.

Darnitskyi District: The strikes caused fires at two locations; unfortunately, 7 people were killed and 1 person is in critical condition at the hospital. The fire has been extinguished.

Additionally, at another address, two people were injured by the blast wave, one of whom was a child.

Holosiivskyi District: A non-residential building was struck. The fire, which covered an area of 40 square meters, was extinguished; one person died.

Solomyanskyi District: A residential building sustained partial damage after being struck by a UAV. Firefighters rescued a man and freed a woman from under the rubble. The victims were transported to an ambulance.

Earlier, the National Police reported that eight civilians in Kyiv were killed as a result of enemy shelling. Three more people were injured, including a 10-year-old boy.

Three people were killed in Kyiv as a result of a Russian attack on the night of September 1. Five more residents of the capital were injured. 

“Unfortunately, three people were killed as a result of the enemy attack on the capital. We extend our condolences to their families and loved ones. We also know of five injured,” the Kyiv City Military Administration stated in a release.

The City Military Administration had also previously reported a fire in one of Kyiv’s buildings. However, this information was later found to be unconfirmed.

Other consequences of the nighttime attack were still being assessed at the time of publication.

As a reminder, as a result of the Russian attack in the Kyiv region, warehouses belonging to the “Aurora” chain caught fire, causing heavy smoke. Traffic was temporarily restricted on a section of the Kyiv–Chop highway heading toward the capital.
