Ukraine has brought back 10 children from the occupied part of the Kherson region

This was reported by Alexander Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional State Administration.

The children endured shelling, drone attacks, forced education under Russian curricula, and threats from the occupying forces.

Among those rescued was a six-year-old boy who had lived for a long time under constant shelling and attacks by Russian drones. This had a negative impact on his psychological well-being.

According to Prokudin, drones regularly flew over the playgrounds where the boy was, while nearby residential buildings were being destroyed.

Another child rescued was a 17-year-old girl. According to Prokudin, a Russian drone struck her room directly. In addition, the girl was forced at gunpoint to attend a school that operated under the rules of the occupying authorities.

Currently, all 10 children are in territory controlled by Ukraine and are receiving the necessary assistance.

In total, 180 children have been returned from the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region since the beginning of 2026.

As a reminder, the Office of the Prosecutor General has opened a criminal investigation into crimes against humanity committed against Ukrainian children.
