In the first half of August, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that it had shot down at least 25 Ukrainian “Flamingo” missiles, which is more than in all of July.

This is reported in an analysis by the Russian media outlet “Agency.News.”

In June, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported 12 “Flamingo” missiles shot down; in July, 20; and in the first two weeks of August, 25. By comparison, between February and May, the ministry reported the destruction of 31 such missiles.

The publication also documented at least four confirmed “Flamingo” strikes on Russian facilities this summer. These included attacks on “VNIIR-Progress” in Cheboksary, “Titan-Barrikady” in Volgograd, “AVITEK” in Kirov, and “Progress” in Samara.

The “Flamingo” is a Ukrainian cruise missile with a claimed range of up to 3,000 km. It can carry a warhead weighing up to 1,150 kg and reach speeds of about 900 km/h.

According to the “Agency,” the “Flamingo’s” most distant target was the Votkinsk Plant in Udmurtia, located approximately 1,600 km from the border with Ukraine.
