Plant in Novy Urengoy struck more than 3,000 kilometers from Ukraine

The Special Operations Forces and the General Staff have confirmed the strike and the record-breaking distance covered by Ukrainian drones.

According to the Ukrainian weapons manufacturer, FP-1 drones traveled over 3,200 km and set a new record for strike range.

The target was the Novourengoy ZPKT plant—a direct hit was recorded on the plant’s premises. The extent of the damage is being assessed.

The plant is one of the region’s key gas condensate infrastructure facilities. Its design capacity is approximately 19.5 million metric tons of raw materials per year.

The distance from the Ukrainian border to the facility is over 2,800 km as the crow flies.

A fire was reported on the plant’s premises following the attack. Information regarding the extent of the damage and potential consequences for the plant’s operations is currently being verified.

Interestingly, Fire Point hinted at whose drone might have traveled more than 3,300 km to strike the target.

As a reminder, on the night of September 8, the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) struck the “Admiral Essen” missile carrier and infrastructure at a Russian naval base in Novorossiysk.
