"Kyiv Digital" is already sending out alerts about various levels of air threats: what other changes have been implemented

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko has announced this.

According to him, the Kyiv Defense Council adopted the relevant decision today in accordance with a government resolution and city initiatives regarding the capital’s operations amid a deteriorating security situation.

Thus, notifications in the app should inform Kyiv residents not only of the fact that an alert has been issued but also of the level of danger.

At the same time, businesses of all types of ownership will be able to operate in accordance with government decisions.

At the yellow threat level, the city will continue to provide essential services to residents. In particular, Administrative Service Centers and institutions providing social services will remain open. Kyiv’s educational and medical facilities will operate in accordance with previously established safety protocols.

Curfew in Kyiv to Be Shortened

According to a government decision, the curfew in the capital will last from 1:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. The new curfew schedule will take effect at 12:00 a.m. on September 10.

Accordingly, Kyiv’s public transportation schedule will be extended by one hour. At the same time, the operating hours for restaurants, entertainment venues, and shopping centers will remain unchanged.

The movement of large transit vehicles during curfew in Kyiv has already been permitted since September 3.

In addition, due to possible train delays, the city will organize four bus routes to transport passengers from the central train station during curfew hours.

How the Metro Will Operate

During the yellow alert level, the Syretsko-Pecherska Line—the green metro line—will operate without restrictions. Trains will transport passengers across the South Bridge between the right and left banks of the Dnipro River.

The Red Line will operate on a limited schedule. Passengers will be transported via the underground section from the “Akademmistechko” station to the “Arsenalna” station.

Surface public transportation will continue to operate without restrictions. Additionally, an extra bus route is already in service in the city, duplicating the metro’s Red Line—from the “Palats Sportu” station through “Arsenalna” to the “Lisova” station.

What rules will apply on bridges during an air raid alert

Traffic on the South Bridge will be permitted without restrictions during an air raid alert. However, a 30-minute closure is scheduled immediately after the alert is announced and for 30 minutes after it is lifted.

During an air raid alert, access to the South Bridge from Saperno-Slobidska Street and Mykhailo Boichuk Street will be closed.

The Darnytsia Bridge, the Paton Bridge, the Metro Bridge, and the North Bridge will operate as usual.

The Podil-Voskresensky Bridge will also be closed for 30 minutes after the alert is announced and for 30 minutes after it is lifted. Traffic patterns on the bridge will be adjusted—specifically, two-way traffic will be implemented.

Restrictions on Mass Gatherings

Due to the deteriorating security situation in the capital, all entertainment and physical education and sports events in open areas, as well as in facilities without shelters, will be temporarily banned.

Important: All of these changes in the capital will take effect at 12:00 a.m. on September 10. City services are already taking the necessary organizational steps to implement them.

As a reminder, Klitschko previously proposed changing the operating rules for bridges and the metro during alerts. The Defense Council has instructed the Defense Forces and relevant departments of the Kyiv City State Administration to prepare proposals regarding the possible lifting of such restrictions.
