A former high-ranking UAF official has been detained in Slovakia in connection with a case involving the embezzlement of 295 million hryvnias: extradition proceedings are underway

In Bratislava, law enforcement officials arrested a former high-ranking official of the Ukrainian Football Federation (now the UAF), who had been on the run from Ukrainian justice for years.
This was reported by Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko.
Based on the circumstances of the case, the individual in question is the organization’s former head, Andriy Pavelko, who orchestrated a large-scale scheme to siphon off the federation’s funds through commercial entities under his control.
As a result of the scheme, the money was transferred abroad, and the federation itself suffered losses of nearly 295 million hryvnias.
The Office of the Prosecutor General has already initiated the process of extraditing the suspect to Ukraine.
I have sent a letter to the competent authorities of the Slovak Republic stating my intention to submit a request for the extradition of this individual, as well as for his pretrial detention. Time, distance, a different country, or a new life do not absolve one of responsibility
