YouTube has blocked three channels for the Russian animated series "Masha and the Bear" in Ukraine – the Russian-language, Ukrainian-language, and English-language versions.
This information comes from the Center for Countering Disinformation.
The Center for Countering Disinformation noted that all three channels had previously been included in a sanctions decision by the National Security and Defense Council, which was enacted by a decree of the President of Ukraine.
The Center emphasized that blocking these channels limits Ukrainian children’s access to Russian content.
In addition, this deprives Russia of yet another digital platform for generating revenue and spreading hybrid influence.
As a reminder, Ukrainian Minister of Culture Tetiana Berezhna explained why sanctions were imposed against “Masha and the Bear”: in 2025 alone, the Ukrainian-language “Masha and the Bear” YouTube channel garnered over 800 million views.
