Hanna Hvozdiar reappointed as Ukraine’s Deputy Defense Minister

This was reported by Taras Melnychuk, the government’s permanent representative in the Verkhovna Rada.

Hanna Hvozdiar previously served as Deputy Minister of Defense from July 2025 to January 2026.

Prior to that, from September 2023 to July 2025, she served as Deputy Minister for Strategic Industrial Sectors of Ukraine.

Since 2020, Hvozdiar has headed Serhiy Prytula’s charitable foundation.

As Deputy Minister of Defense, she will be responsible for the defense-industrial complex and exports.

The Cabinet of Ministers Appointed New Deputy Ministers

In addition to Hvozdiar, the government approved a number of other personnel decisions:

• Volodymyr Shemaev was appointed Deputy Minister of Recovery, Infrastructure, and Transport of Ukraine;
• Mykola Matyushenko was appointed Deputy Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity of Ukraine for Digital Development, Digital Transformation, and Digitalization;
• Anatoliy Komirny was dismissed from his position as Deputy Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity of Ukraine for Digital Development, Digital Transformations, and Digitization;
• Mykola Hruska has been appointed head of the Khmelnytskyi District State Administration in Khmelnytskyi Oblast.

As a reminder, Zelenskyy appointed a new commander of the Ground Forces—Svyatoslav Zaits. He previously headed the 20th Army Corps.
