The High Anti-Corruption Court remanded Mudra in custody for 60 days with bail set at 20 million hryvnias

The court ruled to remand her in custody for 60 days, with the option of posting bail in the amount of 20 million hryvnias. The prosecution had requested that Mudra be remanded in custody with an alternative bail amount of 150 million hryvnias.

Before the court issued its ruling, Mudra denied the charges against her and stated that she did not plan to evade the investigation.

In particular, she emphasized that:

• since 2015, she had been engaged in legal countermeasures against Russia;
• in February 2022, she traveled abroad but returned to Ukraine in May;
• she did not receive any funds from former People’s Deputy Maksym Mykytas;
• she has no intention of evading the investigation;
• she considers the allegations unfounded and requested that she not be remanded in custody.

Separately, Mudra denied receiving $4 million from Mykytas. According to her, these funds were not transferred to her—neither in cash, nor to a bank account, nor in any other form.

After the bail decision was handed down, Mudra stated that she would try to raise the necessary amount. She noted that she has some of the funds herself and hopes to receive help from friends for the rest.

As a reminder, on August 24, the High Anti-Corruption Court continued its consideration of a motion to impose a preventive measure on Iryna Mudra, the former deputy head of the Office of the President, whom NABU and the SAPO suspect of involvement in laundering 150 million hryvnias to post bail for one of the defendants in the “Midas” case.

A SAPO prosecutor stated that Mudra and Mykytas systematically deleted information from their phones, destroyed documents related to the case, used foreign phone numbers, and communicated via the secure messaging app Threema.
