A prosecutor from the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office is requesting that Oleksiy Stupak, chairman of the board of “SENS Bank,” be subject to a preventive measure in the form of pretrial detention, with the alternative of posting bail in the amount of 150 million hryvnias.

The High Anti-Corruption Court has imposed a preventive measure on Iryna Mudriy, the former deputy head of the Office of the President, who is implicated in the “Forest Gump” high-level corruption case.

During the High Anti-Corruption Court hearing to determine a preventive measure for Mudriy, the defense team for the former deputy head of the Office of the President asked the court to impose a less severe preventive measure on her.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed decrees appointing judges to the High Anti-Corruption Court and also replaced the heads of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Khmelnytskyi and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

The High Anti-Corruption Court ordered former lawmaker Maksym Mykytas to be remanded in custody, with the option of posting bail of 30 million hryvnias. The prosecutor’s office had requested 200 million hryvnias.

On Friday, August 21, the High Anti-Corruption Court will continue its consideration of a motion filed by a prosecutor from the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) to impose a preventive measure on former People’s Deputy Maksym Mykytas.

The Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court considered an appeal filed by the defense team of Olga Stefanishyna, the former deputy prime minister and former Ukrainian ambassador to the United States. Her attorneys challenged the pretrial condition in the form of a 6 million hryvnia bail.

A 30-year-old Kharkiv resident was found guilty of manufacturing a homemade explosive device at the behest of a representative of the Russian Federation. The explosion killed a National Guard soldier and a 15-year-old boy.

On August 13, Olga Stefanishyna’s former colleagues in the legal profession posted a bail of six million hryvnias for the former Ukrainian ambassador to the United States.
